Cuidad De Dios!!
Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing excellent! Sorry it has been so long since I wrote an email. Haha, the mission has been crazy.
A lot has happened since my last email. To be honest, I don't know where I left off, but I am glad to report all is well here in Lima, Peru.
I have been learning a ton in these past couple of months and have come to know our Savior better every day. It has been such a blessing to see how our messages can really touch and change lives. I am so grateful to be part of this wonderful work.
One of the greatest moments on my mission just happened this week. One of our friends we baptized in my first area just went through the temple this week. I was so grateful to be able to be there with her. Hermanita Rebecca is a great example of perseverance. She is 90 and has made the decision to be baptized and press forward with the most brilliant attitude. She is always sharing the peace of Christ in her life with everyone she talks to. When I saw her, she asked for cards of Jesus Christ so she could hand them out to all her friends.
The mission has taught me a lot. And I'll be frank, my studies are very basic. As I have devoted my time to come to know our Savior better, I have been able to see things much clearer and learn what is really important in life, not only for now but for my future too. Through my studies, I have determined that what is most important to me right now is that the people of Lima, Peru, know that Jesus is their Christ, their Savior, their Redeemer, and the way. All of us need Him, and He accepts all of us when we are actively seeking His refuge.
One scripture that has really impacted me a lot recently is in 2 Nephi 2:7–8:
"Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth. 7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered. 8 Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise."
I love this scripture, and it is a great reminder for everyone. I invite you to meditate on it.
SECOND PART
Since this last email, I got transferred to a new area with a new companion. I am now in Cuidad de Dios (City of God). It is awesome! I also have a new companion named Elder Palomino. He is a dawg! We get along great, and we are opening an area here. It is super cool and humble.
Everything is going great. I am extremely content, happy, and learning more about Christ every day. I love you all so much. I'd love to hear how you are doing! Send me an email. I'd love to hear from you!
